Our Story
Years ago, The Point Restaurant at Grandpappy Point Resort & Marina was infamous with Lake Texoma. The food, the view, and the atmosphere were hard to beat. But as they say, all good things must come to an end. Through various changes in ownership, flooding, and a short list of other reasons, The Point finally closed its doors in 2005. The restaurant space continued to operate seasonally however, under different names and menus throughout the years, but it was never quite like the old Point.
Then in 2018 we had an idea, an idea to bring a better dining experience to Lake Texoma that both honored the nostalgia of what used to be and celebrated what could. After, what seemed, countless hours of planning and preparation we re-opened The Point Restaurant in March of 2019. With a remodel of the dining room, a menu that mixes old classics with new favorites, and dedication to warm welcoming service, our vision has always been to present a dining experience where everyone feels welcome. We even brought back the original General and Kitchen Managers to lead that vision. So, Whether you need a dose of crunchy fried pickles and a half-pound cheeseburger after a day on the water, or you’d like to sip your favorite drink and enjoy the best view of Lake Texoma while you wait for our mouthwatering farm-to-table prime rib, we endeavor to pay homage to a restaurant where so many memories were made, while providing an atmosphere for so many more to come.
